It has been 20 years since the Thicket Forum was formed by a group of people who saw the value and importance of the collection of unique vegetation types, which would later be classified as a biome of Subtropical Thicket. The Biome is known for its spinescence which is matched by some thorny challenges in conserving and sustainably managing the vegetation and horned animals, both domestic and wild across the region.
The Thicket Forum of 2024 aims to reflect on 20 years of discussion, research, conservation, management and partnerships supporting the value of the thicket and look toward the strategic opportunities for ensuring that this lesser known Biome is valued into the future.
